More Than a Cycling Tour

A Week on the Most Famous Roads in the Alps

You know these names even if you've never been here. Galibier. Alpe d'Huez. Izoard. They're the climbs that made cycling history, and they're the reason people from all over the world dream about riding in the French Alps.

This trip makes that dream simple.

From the moment you land in Geneva to the final dinner on the shores of Lake Annecy, every road, every hotel, every meal has been chosen by someone who knows these mountains better than anyone - because he raced them professionally. You don't plan anything. You don't carry anything. You don't worry about anything. You ride beautiful roads at whatever pace feels right, and everything else is already taken care of.

Eight Days of Altitude and Elegance

DAY 1

The Seamless Arrival

Your premium experience begins the moment you land in Geneva. Forget about hauling bike boxes or navigating train schedules. Our private transfer is waiting to whisk you directly to the charming town of Moûtiers. After you check into the Auberge de Savoie, Rodolfo and the mechanics will personally fit and tune your bicycle. With logistics completely handled, you sit down with your new riding companions for a rich, traditional Savoyard welcome dinner.

DAY 2

First Tastes of Altitude

You wake up to fresh mountain air and a perfectly prepped bike waiting at the door. Today, we introduce your legs to the Alps with the legendary Col de la Madeleine. There is zero rush. You ride at the pace that feels right, with our support van close behind carrying fresh water and snacks. We end the day rolling into Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, where a hot shower and one of the best meals of the week await at the Hotel Saint Georges.

DAY 3

Into the Mythic Peaks

This is the day you step into cycling history. We climb the winding Col du Télégraphe before emerging onto the wide, barren slopes of the Col du Galibier. This is where Tour de France legends are made, 2,642 meters up, snow still on the road in July. You ride these giant roads with a former pro by your side to guide your rhythm. Tonight, we celebrate your summit at the Grand Hôtel Serre Chevalier, soaking in the thermal atmosphere of the valley.

DAY 4

The Lunar Landscapes of Izoard

Since we are staying a second night at the Grand Hôtel Serre Chevalier, there is no need to pack your bags. We head out for a circular loop through Guillestre to take on the Col d'Izoard. The landscape shifts dramatically here into something you don't expect from the Alps - pale rock towers, no trees, no grass. The south face is called the Casse Déserte, and it looks closer to the moon than to France. A quiet afternoon back at the hotel to recover.

DAY 5

Cruising the High Valleys

We leave our base and point our wheels toward the long, open roads of the Col du Lautaret. This climb is steady and rhythmic, with views across the Écrins massif that stretch so wide they don't fit in a photograph. We descend into the high-altitude hub of Les Deux Alpes, check into The People, swap riding stories over drinks, and prepare for tomorrow's iconic challenge.

DAY 6

The 21 Hairpins of Glory

Today, you ride the most famous stretch of road in cycling. After a descent to Le Bourg d'Oisans, you face the 21 historic switchbacks of Alpe d'Huez. Every corner is numbered, every one you pass is proof you belong here. After taking your summit photo, we descend and take on the Col du Glandon - a reward for those legs that have been building all week. We wrap up this monumental day checking into the Hotel L'Eterlou in La Chambre for a well-deserved evening of rest and good food.

DAY 7

Descending to the Crystal Waters

The dramatic high peaks give way to softer, greener landscapes. We ride from La Chambre through Albertville, then follow the road as it winds its way toward the shores of Lake Annecy. The contrast is remarkable - you trade rugged alpine rock for crystal-clear water and lakeside promenades. We check into the Hotel Splendid, where your room looks straight out over the lake. Tonight, we gather on the waterfront for the farewell dinner, raising a glass to the mountains we rode together.

DAY 8

Departure with Zero Stress

Sleep in and enjoy a final, quiet breakfast looking out over Lake Annecy. There is no frantic packing or rushing. You leave your bike with our mechanics, and our private transfer ensures you arrive at Geneva airport relaxed, refreshed, and carrying memories that will last a lifetime.

The Man Behind the Roads

Rodolfo Massi won a stage at the Tour de France in the Pyrenees. He won a stage at the Giro d'Italia. He wore the King of the Mountains jersey - the polka dots - through the same cols you'll ride on this trip.

He's not a tour operator who studied a map. He's a former professional who spent his career on these exact roads. He knows where the gradient kicks, where the wind hits, where to stop for the view that nobody else knows about. And he knows something most guides don't: how to make a climb feel like a gift instead of a punishment.

Today, Rodolfo takes a handful of people each year through the mountains that shaped his life. Not to race. Not to suffer. To feel what it's like to ride roads that were built for something extraordinary - with someone who lived it.

Jean-Philippe D.

2025

"Alpe d'Huez with Rodolfo. That's all I need to say. Dream come true."

Mike A.

2024

"I was worried it would be too easy for me since I train a lot. It wasn't. Rodolfo let me push on the hard days and the group rides on the easier days were really fun. Perfect balance."

Laura H.

2023

"I'm not a great cyclist honestly, maybe ride twice a week at home. But I did the Galibier. ME. I still can't believe it. The guides were so patient and the van was always close so I never panicked. My friends at home don't believe me haha."

Daniel M.

2019

"Second trip with Massi. The Dolomites last year, Alps this year. Different mountains, same incredible organization. You don't think about anything except riding. Everything else just happens."

Nathalie R.

2025

"Lake Annecy on the last evening with the whole group. We started as strangers and by day 3 it felt like friends. The riding was incredible but honestly what I remember most is the dinners and the laughs. I miss it already."

Karen W.

2018

"I used the e-bike for two of the big days and nobody cared. Not the guides, not the other riders, nobody. That meant a lot to me. I still rode every kilometer, just with a little help on the steep bits. Best holiday I've had in years."

Worried You're Not Fast Enough?

Read This

Every single person who books this trip asks some version of the same question:

"Can I actually do this?"

Yes. Here's why.

This is not a race. There is no pace to hold and no group to keep up with. Rodolfo has guided riders of every level through these cols - from people who train five days a week to people who ride on weekends when the weather is nice.

The support van follows the group every day. If you hit a wall, you can still enjoy the view in the van without judgment. If you want an e-bike for the bigger days, several guests choose exactly that every trip.

The only thing that matters is that you enjoy riding. If you're worried about being a burden, that worry itself is proof that you're the kind of person this trip was made for: someone who cares about the experience and the people around them.
